Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, Movement No. 18


Balance the Chi

18.     Balancing the Chi, also known as Quieting the Chi, and Pressing the Palms
 
Raising and gathering the chi you have generated:
·                    breathe in as you
·                    raise the body
·                    turn palms facing upwards
·                    and gently raise palms up until they are facing your nose
 
Grounding the chi:
·                    breathe out as you
·                    turn your palms downwards
·                    and draw your arms down to waist level
            sink body and relax
 
There are different ways to end, but I like to end by drawing the hands together in a prayer position and bringing the left leg in to the starting position. Then draw the hands down to the sides and take a few deep breaths.
