Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, Movement No. 16

Hug and Swing the Sun

16.      Spinning Wheels, Rotary Flying Wheel, Hugging and Swinging the Sun

This movement is performed from horse-riding stance but there is some movement in the legs, but keep the knees bent throughout.

Circle clockwise up:
 • keep your arms shoulder width apart
 • bend down
 • breathe in
 • raise body while twisting to the left
 • raise arms until above the head
 • tilt body backward
Circle clockwise down:
 • lower both arms on the right side
 • breathe out
 • lower body while twisting to the right
 • bend down

Half the repetitions to one side and the other half to the other side.

Health Benefits:
·                    Improves blood pressure, especially low blood pressure.
·                    Loosens back and shoulders, takes away stiffness.
·                    Tones muscles of the entire back.
